About Me

After over 30 years as a therapist, still inspired by the same passion: helping you feel clear, calm, and confident.

Hi, I’m Tracy Durkin, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker

I’m one of the lucky people who truly love what they do. Even as a child, I knew I wanted to be a counselor, to help others find solutions, build self-acceptance, and feel happier.

The core values that guide both my life and my work are non-judgment and self-acceptance. Most of us have been taught that self-improvement means fixing our flaws. I believe the opposite: instead of focusing on what’s “wrong,” real growth comes from healing emotional wounds, recognizing strengths, and learning to treat ourselves with respect.

Whatever brings you - anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, or something else entirely - the goal isn't to "fix" you, but to bring you relief by helping you build greater awareness, connect with your inner resources, and move toward the life you desire.

I strive to create a therapeutic relationship that feels real, human, and grounded. I will teach you real-life tools for creating more positive thoughts, feelings, and actions. Together we’ll keep a close eye on whether you’re recognizing the changes you want.

Whether you attend individual, couples, family or group sessions, you will see that the deepest, most lasting changes are rooted in kindness, encouragement, and compassion for yourself. Many of us don’t have a lot of experience with being kind to ourselves - I will teach you how!

My work is rooted in family systems and psychodynamic approaches. I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and families navigating complex life experiences.

My foundational and continuing education is vital to my professional growth. I stay actively engaged in learning by attending trainings, workshops, and courses that deepen my knowledge and keep my work fresh, relevant, and effective. This commitment ensures that I’m always evolving as a clinician and offering you the highest level of care. Some of the modalities I have been trained in or studied include:

  • Family Systems Therapy

  • Cultural Context Model

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Internal Family Systems

  • Transpersonal Psychology

Throughout my career, I’ve provided therapy and clinical supervision in a variety of settings—from private practice to hospitals, nonprofits, and community agencies. I’ve led creative arts therapy programs for children, supported survivors of domestic violence, and trained fellow professionals in trauma-informed care and relational therapy.

I am currently accepting new clients.

When you’re ready, I’m here.

Book a free 15-minute consultation with me to hear more, ask questions,  and see how we connect. There's no commitment - just a chance to see if this feels right for you.
